Stereotype threat in chess

This project considers the impact of the negative stereotype that women are bad at chess.  Thank you to for awarding one of the participating students, Sarah Kudron, with their undergraduate research award!

Video games and cognition

This project focuses on the benefits of video game play for cognitive skills that improve science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) outcomes. There is considerable research demonstrating the value of spatial skills in STEM fields and also research showing how training, using first-person perspective video games, enhances spatial thinking.
